Danos on Seneca – Though modeled on a centuries-old Viennese tradition, there’s never been anything quite like Dano’s Heuriger on Seneca, America’s first heuriger (pronounced Hoy-rig-er). Dano’s on Seneca combines the traditional Viennese Winery Restaurant concept with the region’s award winning wines and the superb Viennese-inspired cooking of Dano’s chef/co-owner Dano Hutnik and pastry chef/co-owner Karen Gilman. Located about 20 minutes from HH on Seneca Lake.
Boatyard Grill – located on the inlet in Ithaca, this restaurant is a great choice for seafood, pastas, steaks and good old all-American cuisine. Outdoor dining by the water is available in season. A 12 minute drive from the Halsey House.
Heights Cafe – American cuisine with global influences. Vegetarian dishes available. ( 25 minute drive)

Mahogany Grill – 607-272-1438 – 112 N. Aurora St. Ithaca, NY – The Mahogany Grill is a steak and chophouse resplendent with dark wood and brass. The menu offers a wide choice of beef, lamb, pork, poultry and some fish. But even here in this house of carnivores it is possible to discover Roasted Eggplant Ravioli tucked at the bottom of the list of entrees. (15 minutes from HH on The Commons)
Maxie’s Supper Club and Oyster Bar – Maxie’s serves Cajun influenced dishes and modern fresh seafood styled “New Orleans” while throwing in all the fun of Mardi Gras. Food, band and atmosphere, so, go, sample their fresh raw bar and spicy jambalaya. (12 minutes away)
Moosewood Restaurant – With an emphasis on healthful natural foods cuisine it has operated successfully for thirty years and has been acclaimed as a driving force in the world of creative vegetarian cooking. Moosewood was named one of the thirteen most influential restaurants of the 20th Century by Bon Appetit magazine. (16 minutes away in downtown Ithaca)
Simply Red Lakeside Bistro – Simply our favorite! This unique choice for creative dining on fresh local ingredients has relocated from our charming village of Trumansburg to Sheldrake Point Vineyard located 15 minutes from the Halsey House on the Cayuga Wine trail. Lunch is served Mon. – Sat. 11-3, and dinners Monday, Friday and Saturdays 5-9pm.
Suzanne Fine Regional Cuisine – Offering fine dining in the Finger Lakes, specializing in farm fresh and country elegant cuisine with an excellent selection of Finger Lake Wines. Located on the Seneca Wine Trail with a beautiful view of Seneca Lake.
Taughannock Farms Inn Restaurant – Beautiful Victorian mansion with large windows facing a wonderful Cayuga Lake view. An upscale dining experience. (a leisurely 3 minute drive, why, we’re practically neighbors)
Woodland Roadhouse – 9632 Rte. 96 – casual, family friendly, smoked meats, American food, a real mutt menu! Just up the road beyond Trumansburg (Approx. 4 miles away)
